Lekhan Chakravyuh: UPSC ISS Essay Challenge

One night. One essay. 30 marks. Evaluated like the real paper.

Instructor: Shyam Agrawal – IIT Bombay Alumnus

Language: English

Validity Period: 100 days

Every UPSC ISS aspirant prepares General English. Very few ever find out how their essay would actually be marked.

Lekhan Chakravyuh is a free essay challenge built to close that gap. On Monday, 14 September at 9:00 PM, you sit down with a pen and paper, write one essay in 65 minutes, and submit it exactly the way you would in the examination hall. Five days later, you get an honest evaluation.

Ten essays. One is yours.

We have set ten essay topics for this challenge, each on a different theme, and each built on the pattern and trends of the UPSC ISS General English paper. The topic you write is allotted to you personally, so you are not writing the same essay as everyone else, and no ready made answer will help you. The topic list stays sealed until 9:00 PM on the night of the challenge.

What you will receive

  • Marks out of 30, on the UPSC ISS General English pattern
  • A section wise breakup, so you know exactly where the marks went and where they were lost
  • Three things you did well in your essay
  • Three things that pulled your marks down
  • Three suggestions you can apply the very next time you write
  • One paragraph of your own essay, rewritten the way an examiner would want to read it

A participation certificate for every student who submits

Every single participant gets this. Not just the top writers.

Why this matters

In the real paper, the topic does not come by your choice, the clock does not stop, and nobody tells you afterwards what went wrong. One honest hour of writing tonight will tell you more about your General English than a month of reading about it.

Practice. Improve. Repeat.
